The food that I feed my puppies is called Nutrisource 30/21 Puppy Starter Plus as well as Nutrisource Small & Medium Breed Puppy or Nutrisource Large Breed Puppy depending on which the puppies seem to need and based on size. I also feed Nutrisource Choice Whitefish Meal & Rice Recipe and Rotate in a bag of Nutrisource Lamb Meal & Rice Recipe. I also feed Nutrisource Treats that are lamb, salmon or chicken flavored. The Bernese Breed seems to have a lot more sensitivities to foods and treats containing chicken, chicken ingredients and chicken byproducts. So that is definitely something to watch with them as well as their proneness to allergies and hotspots.

I only feed grain inclusive foods and treats. I do not feed any foods or treat that are grain free. I always read food labels and ingredients before I purchase anything for my dogs. I also try to avoid certain ingredients like peas, lentils, other legume seeds, all potatoes including sweet potatoes, corn, wheat, soy, meat and grain meals and by-products, BHA - Butylated Hydroxyanisole, BHT - Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Ethoxyquin, Food Dyes - Blue 2, Red 40, Yellow 5 and 6, 4-MIE, PG - Propylene Glycol, rendered fat, and etc. I do not do grain free due to the research that has came out about the affects grain free has on the hearts of our precious pets. Current research has shown that Grain Free causes Canine Dilated Cardiomyopathy in young dogs and pets and eventually death. It also has been said to have been the cause of other health issues in young dogs and pets. I recommend that all pet owners to please do their research on this issue.
